Excuses are . . . excuses! We can all find reasons why we can’t do what God is asking us to do. We can’t tithe – not right now. We can’t talk to our co-worker about Jesus. She wouldn’t understand. We can’t invite our neighbor to a Bible Study – what would he think of us? We can’t . . . We can’t . . .
God is at work – and He wants us to join Him – Many of us learned this truth in Henry Blackaby’s study Experiencing God. God is working. He wants us to be a part of what He is doing.
God’s call always involves risks – Whenever God invites us to move forward with Him, it will involve risks. Moses had to take those risks. Gideon and Jeremiah had to step out on faith. The Rich Young Ruler just couldn’t do it.
God is with us – In all the cases we studied in this lesson, God promised to be with them. Jesus invited the young man to follow Him. He is with us today. We don’t walk the path of obedience alone. God is with us!
God’s power is sufficient for the task – God is not calling us to learn how to express our own power or our own ingenuity. He is inviting us to a life of faith where we see His hand at work! His power is on display! He will accomplish what He says He will.
